Custard Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 c. milk
3 eggs
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
a few gratings of nutmeg (if desired)
prepared raw pie crust
Preparation

Scald milk.
Beat eggs slightly.
Add sugar, salt and vanilla, then add scalded milk.
Pour this mixture into chilled raw pie crust.
Bake at 450\u00b0 for 10 minutes, then at 325\u00b0 for 30 minutes. To test for doneness, insert a table knife in center of pie.
If it comes out clean, the pie is done.
Yields 1 (9-inch) pie.
