Mom'S Divinity Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 large c. sugar
    3/4 c. white Karo
    1/2 c. water
    pinch of salt
    3 egg whites
    2 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. nuts
Preparation
    Cook the first 3 ingredients until syrup spins a long thread when dropped from a fork.
    Add 2/3 of the syrup to beaten egg whites; return rest of syrup to burner and bring to a full boil. Add to mixture and beat until it loses its gloss and is creamy. Add vanilla and nuts.
    Put on 2 meat platters.
