Spoon Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. cornmeal
    3 c. milk, divided
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. baking powder
    2 Tbsp. salad oil
    3 eggs, separated
Preparation
    Combine cornmeal and 2 cups milk in a saucepan; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until consistency of mush. Remove from heat; add salt, baking powder, oil and 1 cup milk. Beat egg yolks and stir into cornmeal mixture.
    Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
    Pour into a 1 1/2-quart baking dish. Bake at 325\u00b0 for 1 hour.
    Yield: 6 servings.
