Candied Cucumbers - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    16 lb. cucumbers (medium size)
    2 c. ice cream salt (enough to float an egg)
    1/2 box alum
    apple cider vinegar
    10 lb. sugar
Preparation
    Soak cucumbers in salt water for 7 to 8 days.
    Take out and rinse good.
    Cut cucumbers in slices and soak in alum and water to cover for 1 day.
    Take out and rinse good.
    Soak in apple cider vinegar for 1 day.
    Take cucumbers out and pour vinegar down drain.
    Use stone or glass jar and layer cucumbers with sugar. Stir once in awhile.
    Do not seal during soaking.
    You may leave cucumbers and syrup in the stone or glass jar or store in smaller jars.
