Creamed White Onions - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 jar white onions
    1/4 c. butter
    3/4 c. milk
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. pepper
    2 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1/4 c. water
Preparation
    Pour onions into medium saucepan.
    Cover and simmer over low heat until warm through.
    Drain.
    Remove from heat.
    Add butter and cover until melted.
    Slowly add milk, stirring constantly.
    Return to low heat.
    Add salt and pepper.
    Heat until warm, stirring gently often.
    Mix cornstarch and water.
    While stirring onions, add cornstarch mixture.
    Stir gently until sauce thickens.
    Serve immediately.
