Scalloped Oysters - cooking recipe

1 qt. oysters
3 c. cracker crumbs
1/3 c. finely chopped onion
1/3 c. finely chopped celery
1 stick butter
1 can evaporated milk
salt and pepper to taste
Preparation

Rinse and drain oysters.
Layer bottom of baking dish with crumbs then add layer of oysters. Dot with butter and sprinkle on celery, onion, salt and pepper.
Repeat until dish is filled. Cover top layer with crumbs and dot with remaining butter. Pour milk over top, using fork to allow milk to soak down evenly.
Bake at 375\u00b0 about 35 minutes.
