Italian Sausage And Green Peppers - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    12 (2 lb.) sweet or hot Italian sausage, cut in 4 pieces each
    4 to 6 medium green peppers, seeded and cut in strips
    4 to 6 large onions, peeled and sliced top to bottom
    1 tsp. basil
    1/8 tsp. garlic powder
    1/2 tsp. oregano
    1 1/2 (6 oz.) cans tomato paste
    2 (6 oz.) cans water
    1/2 c. dry red wine
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Brown sausage pieces; pour off all but 3 tablespoons of grease.
    Reserve sausages.
    Saute onions and peppers in grease until peppers are bright green.
    Add remaining ingredients and sausage pieces.
    Cover and simmer 20 minutes.
