Shirley'S Peach Cobbler - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 qt. can peaches
    3/4 c. sugar
    1 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. sugar
    3/4 c. milk
    1 egg
    1/2 c. butter
    cinnamon
    nutmeg
Preparation
    Drain most of juice off peaches. Place in a large saucepan with 3/4 cup sugar. Bring to a boil. Beat together flour, baking powder, salt, 1 cup sugar, milk and egg. Pour boiling fruit into an 8 or 9-inch pan sprayed with Pam. Don't put more than 1/2-inch of juice in baking dish. Pour the batter over the hot peaches. Melt 1/2 cup butter. Pour butter over the batter into drizzle. Sprinkle with cinnamon and nutmeg. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes. Serve plain or with ice cream.
