Pecan Divinity - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar
    1/2 c. light corn syrup
    1/2 c. water
    2 egg whites, at room temperature
    1/8 tsp. cream of tartar
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
    2 c. chopped pecans
Preparation
    Combine sugar, corn syrup and water in heavy saucepan.
    Cook over medium heat to 270\u00b0 to 290\u00b0 on candy thermometer, soft crack stage, stirring frequently.
    Beat egg whites with cream of tartar in mixer bowl until stiff peaks form.
    Add hot syrup 1/3 at a time to egg whites, beating constantly until stiff.
    Stir in vanilla and pecans.
    Drop by teaspoonfuls onto waxed paper. Yield:
    36 servings.
