125 Year Old Walnut Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 lb. butter
    5 eggs
    3 cups sugar
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 cup half and half
    1/2 cup shortening
    3 cups plain flour
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 tsp. lemon extract
    1 cup finely chopped black walnuts
Preparation
    Cream butter and shortening.
    Add sugar and beat well.
    Add eggs one at a time and beat. Mix 1/2 flour with nuts and other half of flour with baking powder.
    Mix in alternately with milk, starting and ending with flour.
    Fold in nuts.
    Bake in a large greased and floured pan for 1 hour and 20 minutes at 325 degrees. Do not open oven for the first hour.
