Beefy Jalapeno Cornbread - cooking recipe

1 c. yellow cornmeal
1 c. milk
2 eggs, slightly beaten
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 c. salad oil
1 (17 oz.) can creamed corn
1 lb. ground beef
1 lb. shredded Cheddar cheese
1 onion, chopped
4 to 5 jalapeno peppers, chopped
Preparation

Combine first seven ingredients in mixing bowl and set aside. Saute ground beef; drain and set aside.
In a greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan, pour half of cornmeal mixture.
Sprinkle with ground beef, onions, jalapeno peppers, then cheese.
Pour remaining cornmeal mixture over top.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 50 minutes.
Yields 8 to 10 servings.
