Plantain Fritters(Tostones) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 green plantain
    oil for deep frying
    salt to taste
Preparation
    Peel plantain.
    Cut into 1-inch pieces.
    Soak in salted water for 15 minutes.
    Remove and deep fry until brown.
    Remove and flatten each slice to about 1/4 to 3/8-inch thick.
    Deep fry again and drain on a paper towel.
    Sprinkle with salt to taste.
    Good with ketchup or garlic oil/butter.
    Makes 6 to 8.
