German Potato Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 lb. potatoes
    1 lb. bacon
    1 large onion, diced
    2 c. white vinegar
    2 Tbsp. sugar or equivalent artificial sweetener
    salt to taste
    pepper to taste
Preparation
    Boil, peel and slice potatoes.
    Add the diced onion; set aside.
    Cut bacon into 1/2-inch squares and cook until crisp. When done, pour bacon and grease over top of potatoes and onion. Add salt and pepper to taste.
    Mix about 2 tablespoons sugar with vinegar.
    Add this sweet-sour mixture to potatoes and bacon and mix thoroughly.
    After mixing, add more salt and pepper to taste, if desired.
    Do not refrigerate!
