Black Walnut Icing - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 c. chopped black walnuts
    1 c. cream
    1/2 tsp. vanilla flavoring
    butter (may be added when mixture is cooked)
Preparation
    Mix all ingredients except flavoring in saucepan.
    Cook, stir while cooking, until soft ball stage.
    Remove from heat, add flavoring and butter.
    This will fill a two-layer cake.
    Use your favorite cake recipe for the layers.
