Japanese Pokkar Sweet And Pungent Spareribs - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 to 3 lb. spareribs
    1/3 c. vinegar
    1/3 c. sugar
    1/4 c. maple syrup
    1/3 c. soy sauce
    1/2 c. sliced onions
    1/2 c. celery, chopped
    1 c. pineapple chunks
    1/2 c. carrots, sliced
    1/2 c. green pepper chunks
    1 tsp. cornstarch
Preparation
    Parboil spareribs.
    Marinate in vinegar, sugar, maple syrup and soy sauce for several hours.
    Remove ribs; brown in large skillet.
    Just before ready to serve, add onions, celery, pineapple, carrots and green pepper.
    Mix cornstarch with marinade.
    Add to skillet.
    Cook until thickened and vegetables are cooked slightly; they should be
    crisp.
