Praline Pecans(Great Holiday Gift In Festive Canister) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 c. (1 lb. pkg.) pecans or walnuts
    2 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1/4 tsp. allspice
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 c. water
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
    1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
Preparation
    Mix all ingredients except nuts, vanilla and cream of tartar in deep Corningware casserole over moderate heat to \"boil\" while stirring for one minute.
    Remove from heat; add and blend vanilla and cream of tartar.
    Quickly add nuts, turning over with spatula to coat.
    Pour out onto wax paper-covered surface and separate. Allow to \"dry\" and store in an airtight container.
