Ingredients

2 egg whites
1/8 tsp. cream of tartar
3/4 c. sugar or 1 c. brown sugar, packed
1/8 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. broken black walnuts or pecans
Preparation

Beat egg whites and salt until stiff.
Fold in sugar, nuts and vanilla.
Drop by teaspoon on greased cookie sheet.
Put in a 450\u00b0 oven (if using electric, turn off); leave in until oven is cool or overnight.
Or you can bake in a 250\u00b0 oven (real slow) for 35 minutes.
