Hush Puppies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 c. self-rising corn meal
1 c. self-rising flour
1 medium onion, finely chopped
1 c. buttermilk
1/2 tsp. black pepper
1 Tbsp. oil

Preparation

Mix meal, flour and onion well and gradually add buttermilk until dough reaches proper consistency.
Dip by rounded spoonfuls into hot, deep fat in which fish has been fried.
Serve hot.
