Congo Squares - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. flour
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1 c. shortening or oleo
    1 box brown sugar
    3 eggs
    1 c. pecans
    6 oz. chocolate chips
Preparation
    Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
    Melt shortening or oleo.
    Add brown sugar.
    Mix well and cool.
    Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition.
    Add dry ingredients, pecans and chocolate chips. Grease oblong pan.
    Add batter and bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
    Cut into bars.
