Banana Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. sugar
    3 Tbsp. flour
    dash of salt
    1 whole egg
    3 egg yolks
    2 c. milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    3 egg whites
    1/4 c. sugar
Preparation
    Combine sugar, flour and salt in top of double boiler.
    Mix 1 egg and 3 egg yolks.
    Save whites for topping.
    Stir in milk. Cook over boiling water, stirring constantly until thickened. Remove from heat and add vanilla.
    Put small amount of custard in 1 1/2-quart casserole.
    Layer vanilla wafers and bananas.
    Add 1/3 custard for each layer.
    Makes 3 layers and end with custard.
