Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
1 c. brown sugar
1 egg, well beaten
2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. soda
1/2 c. sour milk
2 oz. unsweetened chocolate, melted
1 c. chopped nuts
Preparation

Cream shortening and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add egg and mix well.
Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with milk.
Add chocolate and nuts and blend.
Drop from teaspoon on greased cookie sheet.
Bake in moderate oven (350\u00b0) for 15 minutes.
Serve plain or top with confectioners icing.
