Aunt Helen'S Christmas Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter or margarine
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. baking soda, dissolved in 2 Tbsp. hot water
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. allspice
    1 tsp. cloves
    2 to 3 c. flour
    2 c. chopped pecans
    1 pkg. chopped dates
    3/4 lb. each candied pineapple and cherries (1 1/2 lb. total)
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar.
    Add eggs and stir.
    Stir in soda. Add everything else and mix.
    Dough should be very stiff.
    Drop golf ball sized balls on buttered baking sheet.
    Bake at 325\u00b0 for 15 to 18 minutes.
