Ingredients

1 c. white sugar
1 stick margarine
1 egg
1 (8 oz.) pkg. dates
1 c. chopped pecans
2 c. Rice Krispies
1 tsp. vanilla
shredded coconut
Preparation

Melt sugar and margarine in skillet on low heat.
Before it gets hot add the egg.
Add dates and nuts. Cook on slow heat until mixture bubbles (2 or 3 minutes). Take off stove. Stir in Rice Krispies and vanilla. Spread coconut on waxed paper.
Drop mixture by spoonfuls on coconut. Roll in coconut and shape into balls.
