Ingredients

1 1/2 c. buttermilk
3 egg yolks
1/4 c. shortening, melted
1 1/2 c. flour
1 Tbsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
3 egg whites, beaten stiff
Preparation

Combine buttermilk, yolks and shortening. Sift together dry ingredients; add to buttermilk mixture.
Stir until blended.
Fold in beaten egg whites.
