Cherry Nut Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. Crisco
2 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 1/4 c. milk
1/4 c. cherry juice
3 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. crushed nuts
1 jar maraschino cherries
Preparation

Cream shortening and sugar well.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition.
Combine milk and cherry juice.
Sift flour, salt and baking powder together.
Add to shortening mixture, flour and milk mixtures, alternately beginning and ending with flour mixture.
Add cherries before last flour addition.
Mix nuts with last flour and add to batter.
Beat mixture well!
Grease and flour 2 (9-inch) round baking pans.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 35 to 40 minutes.
