Chocolate Crackles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. plus 2 Tbsp. butter flavored Crisco
    6 Tbsp. cocoa
    1 c. sugar
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. flour
    1/2 c. chopped nuts (optional)
    10x sugar
Preparation
    Microwave Crisco on High power for 45 to 60 seconds or until melted.
    Add cocoa; blend. Beat in sugar, baking powder, salt, eggs and vanilla. Stir in flour and nuts.
    Cover and refrigerate until firm. Shape dough into 1-inch balls. Roll in 10x sugar. Arrange 8 balls 2-inches apart in circle on waxed paper lined plate.
    Microwave on Medium power for 1 1/2 to 2 minutes or until cookies are puffed and surface is dry, but cookies are soft when touched.
    Cool on waxed paper on countertop.
    Before serving, sprinkle with additional sugar, if desired.
    Dough can be stored in refrigerator for several days.
