Beef And New Pea Pods-Chinese Style - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. cooked rice
    1 lb. top beef round
    2 Tbsp. cornstarch
    2 Tbsp. soy sauce
    1 Tbsp. dry sherry (optional)
    1/2 tsp. sugar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 lb. fresh snow pea pods or 1 pkg. frozen
    3 Tbsp. cooking oil
    1 (8 oz.) can water chestnuts, drained and sliced
    1 c. water
    2 Tbsp. chopped green onions with tops
    2 Tbsp. pimento strips
Preparation
    Prepare rice.
    Chill meat in freezer until slightly firm.
    Cut meat diagonally across the grain into very thin slices.
    Mix 1 tablespoon cornstarch, soy sauce, sherry, sugar and salt; pour over meat and mix well.
    Snap off tips of fresh snow pea pods; remove strings from pea pods.
    Blanch one minute in boiling water. Rinse in cold water and drain well.
