Women'S City Club Salad Dressing - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. sugar
    4 tsp. dry mustard
    4 tsp. salt
    1 small onion, chopped fine
    1 c. vinegar
    2 c. salad oil
    1/2 c. celery seed
Preparation
    Mix sugar, mustard, salt and onion in mixing bowl.
    Wet mixture with small amount of vinegar.
    With beater set at low speed, add oil and vinegar alternately, adding more oil each time than vinegar, reserving a bit of vinegar.
    Add celery seed with the last of the vinegar.
    Mixture should be thick and stable.
    Store in covered jars and refrigerate.
    Makes 1 1/2 pints.
