Fruitcake Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter
    3/4 c. granulated sugar
    1 c. brown sugar
    4 eggs
    2 tsp. vanilla
    3 c. flour
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    2 Tbsp. orange
    8 oz. chopped dates
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 lb. candied cherries
    1 lb. candied pineapple
    7 c. pecans, chopped
Preparation
    Cream butter with both sugars.
    Add eggs.
    Heat to boil orange juice, dates and baking soda.
    Cool.
    Add when cool to butter mixture.
    Add flour, spices and prepared fruit.
    Fruit needs to be chopped and coated with flour.
    Add pecans.
    Batter will be stiff. Mix well.
    Drop on greased cookie sheet about 2 inches apart.
    Bake at 300\u00b0 for 20 to 30 minutes.
    Cool before removing.
    Makes 10 to 12 dozen.
