Buttermilk Pralines - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. baking soda (mix well in buttermilk)
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. chopped pecans
Preparation
    Pour buttermilk mixture over sugar and cook (stirring constantly) until soft ball forms in ice water.
    Add vanilla.
    Let cool 1 minute.
    Add pecans and mix well.
    When mixture begins to cream, drop on waxed paper.
