Potato Leek Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. chopped leek (include a bit of the green; cut each stalk in half and rinse out sand)
    1/2 c. chopped onion
    1 clove garlic, minced
    1 qt. chicken broth
    1 1/2 c. potatoes, diced
    1 c. half and half
    lettuce
    chopped celery
    sliced red onion rings
    1 can sliced water chestnuts
    1/2 pkg. uncooked frozen peas
    2 c. mayonnaise (spread on top)
    2 Tbsp. sugar
Preparation
    Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Cover with Saran Wrap and let rest overnight.
    Prior to serving, add layer of 6 hard-boiled eggs, finely chopped, and sprinkle with bacon bits.
