Pork Chop-Vegetable Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    6 pork chops
    2 c. thinly sliced potatoes
    2 c. thinly sliced carrots
    1/2 c. thinly sliced onion
    3 Tbsp. flour
    2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    2 c. milk
Preparation
    In heavy skillet, melt shortening.
    Add chops and brown well on both sides
    (about 15 minutes).
    In greased casserole, alternate
    layers
    of
    potatoes,
    carrots
    and onion.
    Arrange chops
    over
    vegetables.
    Stir flour in skillet.
    Add salt and pepper.
    Slowly
    add
    milk.
    Cook,
    stirring constantly, until smooth and thickened.
    Pour over vegetables and meat.
    Bake in hot oven at 400\u00b0 for 45 minutes, covered.
    Uncover and bake 30 minutes longer.
    Serves 6.
