Ingredients

1 c. unsalted butter
1 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 egg yolks
1 1/2 tsp. grated lemon rind
1 2/3 c. flour
1 c. yellow cornmeal
2 1/4 tsp. ground ginger
2 pinches allspice
pinch of salt
Preparation

Set the butter out to soften ahead of time.
Beat the softened butter and brown sugar together until well blended.
Beat in the vanilla, egg yolks and lemon rind.
