Coleslaw - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 qt. chopped, chilled cabbage
    1 raw egg
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    1 tsp. dry mustard
    2 tsp. salt
    vinegar to suit taste
    black and red pepper
    1/2 stick butter or 1/2 c. sweet cream
Preparation
    Make dressing by beating egg in saucepan or double boiler with sugar, mustard, salt, pepper and vinegar.
    Cook over boiling water, stirring constantly, until mixture is of consistency of thick cream.
    Remove from fire and whip in 1/2 block of butter or 1/2 cup of sweet cream.
    Pour over chilled cabbage while hot, mixing well. Chill before serving.
    More seasoning can be added to suit taste.
