Pineapple Upside-Down Cake - cooking recipe

1 box butter recipe cake mix (yellow)
2 cans sliced pineapple
1 stick butter
1 jar cherries
1/2 c. chopped pecans
3/4 c. light brown sugar
Preparation

Melt 1 stick butter in 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish.
Mix brown sugar into melted butter.
Sprinkle nuts into butter and sugar mixture.
Arrange pineapple slices in mixture to cover bottom of dish.
Place cherries in center of pineapple rings.
Mix cake mix as directed and pour over mixture.
Bake at 350\u00b0 in preheated oven 45 minutes to 1 hour.
Turn cake onto long cake plate or pan immediately past removing from oven.
