Pecan Roll Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. white Karo syrup
    1 pkg. dates, chopped
    3/4 c. milk
    1 qt. pecans, coarsely chopped
    scoop of butter or margarine (about the size of a walnut)
Preparation
    Mix sugar, syrup and milk. Cook to a soft ball.
    Put in chopped dates and cook 5 minutes longer. Remove from heat and mix in butter and nuts. Stir until cool.
    Pour out on a clean, damp cloth.
    When cool enough to handle, roll into a roll.
    After candy is completely cool, roll up in foil and refrigerate. Slice and enjoy.
