Stew Beef - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. boneless stew beef
    2 medium onions, chopped
    4 medium potatoes, diced
    1 lb. carrots, diced
    1 can garden peas
    1 can tomato soup
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    Brown beef in small amount of oil in a large skillet.
    Transfer it to a 6-quart Dutch oven.
    Cover with water.
    Add salt, pepper, onions, potatoes, carrots and soup.
    Cover and cook slowly about 1 hour.
    Add peas and cook about 15 more minutes.
    Serve with hot baked cornbread.
