Ingredients

2 c. sifted flour
1/4 c. brown sugar
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. ginger
7 Tbsp. butter
1 large egg, beaten
1/2 c. buttermilk
1/3 c. maple syrup
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
1/2 c. raisins
Preparation

Mix flour with brown sugar, baking powder, salt, soda and ginger.
Cut butter into flour mixture in small particles.
Add egg, buttermilk and maple syrup.
Stir just until mixed.
Stir in walnuts and raisins.
Drop batter by heaping tablespoons onto lightly greased baking sheet 2 inches apart, making 10 mounds. Bake at 425\u00b0 for 12 to 13 minutes.
Serve warm.
