Oatmeal Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/4 c. boiling water
    1 c. rolled oats
    1/2 c. butter or shortening
    1 c. white sugar
    1 c. brown sugar
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/3 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation
    Pour
    boiling
    water
    over
    rolled
    oats.
    Let stand 20 minutes.
    In
    the
    meanwhile,
    cream
    butter with white sugar, brown
    sugar, eggs and vanilla.
    Beat well and add the oatmeal mixture.
    Sift
    the flour, salt, baking soda and cinnamon; add to the mixture.
    Beat
    until smooth.
    Pour in greased 9 x 12 x 2-inch deep oblong pan.
    Bake about 40 minutes at 350\u00b0.
    Frost with Broiled Frosting.
