Banana Nut Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/4 c. shortening
3/4 c. sugar
1 egg
2/3 c. mashed bananas (about 2)
3 Tbsp. sour milk or buttermilk
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation

Mix together the shortening and sugar.
Beat in egg thoroughly.
Stir in bananas and sour milk or buttermilk.
(To sour milk, add 1 teaspoon vinegar.)
Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and chopped nuts.
Stir in flour mixture with rest of ingredients.
Line a greased 5 x 10 x 13-inch bread pan with 2 thicknesses of plain paper.
Grease the paper.
Pour in batter.
Bake 1 hour at 350\u00b0.
