Cheddar Spoon Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. milk, divided
    1/2 c. yellow cornmeal
    1 c. (4 oz.) shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
    1/3 c. butter
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    2 eggs, well beaten
Preparation
    Scald 1 1/2 cups milk.
    Mix cornmeal with remaining cold milk and add to hot milk.
    Cook, stirring constantly, over low heat until thickened, approximately 5 minutes.
    Add cheese, butter, sugar and salt; stir in eggs.
    Pour into 1-quart greased baking dish; bake at 350\u00b0 for about 35 minutes, or until lightly browned and set.
    Serve immediately.
    Yields 6 servings.
