Italian Beef Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. chuck or round
    4 cloves garlic, minced
    1 onion, cut up
    1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes
    1 (16 oz.) can tomato sauce
    1 c. water
    1 c. carrots, diced
    1 c. celery, diced
    2 c. diced potatoes
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    Place beef in a skillet with the onion and brown about 15 minutes.
    Add tomatoes, sauce, water, carrots and celery and cook about 1 1/2 hours.
    Put the diced potatoes in the last 30 minutes. Serves about 12.
