1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar, packed
1/2 c. margarine or butter, softened
1/2 c. butter flavor shortening
1/2 c. quick cooking or regular oats
2 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
2 c. Gold Medal unbleached flour
3/4 c. oat bran
1/4 c. wheat germ
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. peanut butter
2 c. M&M's or 12 oz. pkg. chocolate chips
1 c. peanuts
3/4 c. raisins
Preparation

Beat sugars, margarine and shortening in large bowl with a wooden spoon until creamy and well blended.
Mix in oats, vanilla and eggs.
Stir in flour, oat bran, wheat germ, baking powder and baking soda thoroughly.
Stir in peanut butter.
Stir in candies, peanuts and raisins.
Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls about 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet; flatten slightly.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 9 to 10 minutes or just until cookies are set and begin to brown.
Cool 1 minute before removing from cookie sheet.
Makes about 5 dozen cookies.
