Ingredients

1 c. butter or margarine (2 sticks)
1 1/2 c. confectioners sugar
1 egg
3 c. sifted plain flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. vanilla
pinch of salt
Preparation

Cream butter and sugar well.
Add egg, flour and other ingredients.
Mix together well and chill in refrigerator for several hours or overnight.
Roll out dough into 3/16-inch thickness on a lightly floured, cloth covered board.
Cut into shapes.
Bake 8 to 10 minutes at 375\u00b0.
