Lemon Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. sugar
1 c. water
3 eggs, separated
juice and rind of 1 lemon
1 Tbsp. butter
1 large Tbsp. cornstarch
1 baked pie shell
Preparation

First, grate lemon rind, not the white part.
Add this to 1 cup water.
When it starts to boil, add cornstarch.
Stir until it thickens.
Put the egg yolks in a small bowl with a little of the hot mixture and stir quickly, then add to the rest of mixture. Keep stirring; add juice and butter.
Pour into baked pie shell and let cool.
Beat egg whites with 6 tablespoons sugar and use as topping.
