Fried Apples - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 medium size apples
    3 Tbsp. sugar
    4 Tbsp. bacon drippings or any fat desired
Preparation
    Wash and core apples.
    Melt bacon drippings or desired fat in a heavy skillet and slice apple rings into melted fat.
    Sprinkle sugar over apples and cover.
    When thoroughly heated, lower flame and smother until tender.
    It is usually advisable to turn the apples once or twice during the smothering.
    Especially good with pork or ham as a side dish.
