White Bean Soup - cooking recipe
Ingredients
-
5 (14 oz.) cans Great Northern white beans
4 (14 oz.) cans chicken broth
1 rib celery, sliced thin
1 (1.35 oz.) envelope Mrs. Grass onion soup mix
1/2 tsp. liquid smoke
Preparation
-
Rinse and drain 2 of the cans of beans and put into a large soup pot. In a blender, pure the other 3 cans of beans with their liquid and add it to the soup pot. Then add the chicken broth, celery and onion soup mix and stir well. Cook on low heat 20 to 30 minutes. The longer this cooks, the thicker it gets. Add the liquid smoke just to flavor the cooked soup. Can use crock-pot on low for 2 to 3 hours. Serves 6.
