German Potato Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 slices bacon
    2 Tbsp. flour
    2/3 c. white vinegar
    1 1/3 c. water
    1 small Bermuda onion, chopped
    1/4 c. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    dash of pepper
    6 c. sliced, cooked potatoes
Preparation
    Fry bacon until crisp.
    Drain on paper towel.
    Reserve 4 tablespoons drippings.
    Saute onion in bacon drippings until tender.
    Blend in flour slowly; then stir in vinegar and water. Cook until mixture boils and thickens slightly.
    Add sugar, salt and pepper.
    Simmer 10 minutes.
    Layer potatoes, bacon and sauce in casserole dish.
    Keep warm for several hours to allow flavors to blend.
    A 275\u00b0 oven works best.
