Small Cakes (Cookies) For Christmas - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 3/4 c. sugar
    1 c. margarine or butter
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    3 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1/4 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Cream sugar and butter, then eggs.
    Add other ingredients. Mix well.
    Chill, then roll out on floured board into a thin layer.
    Use cookie cutters to make desired shapes.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 until just lightly browned, about 7 minutes.
    Sprinkle with colored sugar before baking or spread with icing when cool or good just so.
