Fresh Strawberry Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 baked pie shell
    1 qt. strawberries
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. water
    3 Tbsp. cornstarch
    2 Tbsp. white Karo syrup
    additional sugar
    3 Tbsp. strawberry jello
Preparation
    Clean strawberries; add desired amount of sugar and let set. Combine sugar and cornstarch.
    Add water and Karo syrup.
    Cook over medium heat until clear and thickened.
    Add jello and cool slightly.
    Pour mixture over strawberries in pie shell. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
    May top with whipped cream if desired.
